Stop using plastic straws, they tell us. Now Starbucks is on board. The straws aren’t usually within reach anymore. The plastic lids on the ice coffees have changed. Customers are complaining because they now technically have to ask for a straw. Some Starbucks locations have put the straws within reach at the pick-up counters, which might technically be against the overall movement. Are paper straws coming next? Will the paper straws fall apart before my drink is finished? Should I secretly stock up on plastic straws to hold me over for the next 20 years? If I grab 3 plastic straws during each visit, how quickly will that add up? Can I get used to drinking my iced coffee without a straw? If I drink it too slowly, will tiny pieces of ice come through the small opening in the lid? What’s this world coming to? How will we survive? I’m losing sleep over this. (not really)
First world problems 🙂
