I have a short list of go-to people for personal development. Here’s the list and what they are great at helping with:
SETH GODIN – Seth considers himself a teacher and provides so much insight into this changing world. He says that the Industrial Revolution is ending and we are now in the Connection Revolution. He’s one of the best marketers of all time. He reminds us to be generous, focus on work that matters, and so much more.
TIM FERRISS – Tim is great at stepping back and re-evaluating things that we thought we understood. He’s incredible at finding shortcuts and solutions to daily things like email overload. His latest work is interviewing top individuals in their fields to understand their habits, morning routines, etc.
GARY VAYNERCHUK – I’ve only listened to Gary a little bit. I put him on this list because everything I’ve heard is no powerful. He’s a no excuses kinda guy. He provides tough love by pointing out how much opportunity there is in this world right now. His logic and speech just may help you get off your ass 🙂
DEREK SIVERS – I’ve heard some interviews with Derek, and he’s a genius that sees the world so differently from most. I always get a good laugh when I hear an interview with him. He is great at reminding us that there is more than one way to get from point A to point B, in whatever you are building.
JEFF BEZOS – I added Jeff to this list based on simply listening to interviews with him. He has personally helped me when it comes to customer obsession, and not worrying about the competition. He reminds me that it’s okay to fail, because that’s where growth happens. He also helped me understand that there are no guarantees when innovating, but the rewards can be incredible and possibly change the world.
