I heard a quote by Derek Sivers where he said, ““No More Yes. It’s either HELL YEAH! Or No.”
I’ve noticed as the years have gone by, I seemed to get busier and busier. My business grew, and it caused me to have more staff, more machines and overall more volume of everything including projects, bills, etc. Having kids also created more to do. As the kids get older, they get involved in all kinds of activities, and there is always that desire to spend more quality time with them. The list goes on and there is still just 24 hours in a day.
Derek’s quote really made me think. I started to list in my head those things I’ve committed to that I really loved. Those “Hell Yeahs”. Then I started thinking about other commitments I have that are just okay. Why commit to things that are just okay, if you don’t have to? Start to begin dropping those so so commitments. Simply say no to them when you can. You’d be surprised how much time you can free up, and how much happier you might be. Those things you commit to should be things you look forward to and things you are excited about. Life is short, and should be filled with as many “Hell Yeahs” as possible.
