Focus on existing customers

As a small business owner, wanting to grow a small business, there is such a natural desire to find new customers. The formula of advertising or seeking out new customers to grow the business and it’s profits seems like the logical way. I’ve found a better way is to simply focus on the existing customers. Create better products, better service and implement better systems all geared toward the customers you currently have. As Derek Sivers says, “Thrill them and they’ll tell all their friends”. I feel it’s a more organic way of growing a business because this way it’s the happy customers driving the new business, rather than the business owner.
