A customer came in my print shop and needed postcards designed and printed. We quoted him and he accepted. When he approved the design, and was ready to print, he realized that he also needed us to bundle them a certain way for mailing. I knew no matter what, we was going to pay for this service whether my price was low or high, because he had to have it to proceed. It was an easy opportunity to overcharge, but I didn’t. When you are in this situation, don’t overcharge. You wouldn’t want that done to you, so don’t do it to your customer. Charge them a fair rate even if you know you’d get the sale either way. That’s why your customers are coming to you in the first place.
