Keeping a close eye or keeping closed eyes on the competitors

Many small business owners like to know what the competition is doing. What specials are they running? What new services are they offering? What recent social media posts have they made? Keeping a close eye on competitors can have it’s benefits. However, what about the opposite approach?

What if you didn’t spend time watching what your competitors did? What if you pretended like they didn’t exist, and just did what was right for your core customers? What if your main goal was to give your customers a better experience every single time they visited? Develop a passion for delighting your customers. Be so good, that they want to come back to your business. Close your eyes to what the other shops are doing, not because there is anything wrong with their approach. Do it for your customers!
